Announcements and Christmas and Chocolate. Yay!

I should never be proud of myself for being all caught up, because then I have to do it all over again. Ah well.

Anyway, first things first. I'm pregnant. Due in July, right before Miss Bubbly's birthday. My first trimester is finally over--yay! But I still lack energy. This building a human stuff really takes it out of you!! That's my excuse for the lack of blogging lately. More details to follow when we know gender.

On to the holidays!

So here's the Christmas Pageant at the Annual Extended Family Christmas Family Home Evening (known as AEFCFHE from here on out). We didn't do this when I was a kid and I think it's a hoot! Even when my youngest, who was supposed to be a sheep, refused to cooperate.

My girls were playing angels (thus the very necessary standing on the hearth, I was told), as well as my youngest niece, and The Hub was selected to play the donkey. He's carrying sassy Miss B, who was Mary, while her brother attempted to lead him.

Note the reluctant sheep in the donkey's lap. I don't remember this being in the original story.

The littlest angel was quite attentive. And adorable.

Costume change! The littlest angel is now a sneak-attack present. Raaawr!

Christmas Eve we spent at the grandparents' house, just like The Hub used to do as a kid. There was food, there was fire, and there were new pajamas for The Littles. I like this tradition!

And sometimes, if I've been really good, I can get all the kids to look at the camera AT THE SAME TIME. Obviously, I haven't been good lately.

Don't mind the kid's weird face. Admire his pajamas instead, which say "Cool Like Dad".

Ahh, my little poser. She loves the camera. Her pj pants are brown and pink with cute dogs on them, but I think you'd rather look at her face. She seems to prefer that, anyway.

The Eldest pretending to be a dinosaur. What this has to do with Christmas, I don't know. I'm liking Aunt E's secret pink highlights, though!

Christmas morning, before the children wreaked havoc on the gifts and The Boy pulled the tree over.

The Boy playing peek-a-boo with a santa hat. Notice my awesome Christmas gift in the foreground--The Hub got me a great bag to take tutoring and to church. It holds EVERYTHING.

Peek-a-boo! And notice the BYU tie that I ever-so-slyly had The Hub's mom pick up at the BYU bookstore. I'm rather proud of my ninja gift skills.

So Christmas was fun and I was hardly sick that day, which was AWESOME. In fact, compared to being pregnant with The Boy, this has been a breeze! *knock on wood*

Also, I managed to get this paper written over the course of the last year, on the feminism in the Twilight series. Since I never write just for fun, I submitted it to the Life, the Universe, and Everything Science Fiction and Fantasy symposium held at BYU. And to my surprise, they accepted it! So I'm presenting my paper in February. I'm quite excited to go back to the old stomping grounds--I miss my alma mater.

Anyway, I also had a birthday. The Hub made my birthday weekend very enjoyable, but the best part, which The Hub managed to get on camera, was The Boy enjoying my birthday cake.

Please note that we also had pasta alfredo for dinner. So glad we have evidence.

And that, my friends, is that.

I like the pasta alfredo look.

I hope you get some energy for yourself soon.

Since I can't be at the symposium, could I at least read your paper? I am willing to wait until after you present it. I find feminism in sci-fi in general to be very interesting.

Yep. Building human stuff is tough. But look at what you get for doing it: kids dipped in chocolate!
