The Eldest turned FIVE!

The birthday girl celebrated in true Texas style—with family, with food, with horses and hats! With a little conspiring, her great-grandfather and I (mostly him) (in fact, almost all him) made her a rocking horse on wheels, per her request. She just didn’t know we’d actually go through with it.

Since the birthday was on a Sunday, we kept the party a family affair. That worked out well.

The Eldest was very grateful to the right person for her spectacular gift.

She got a hat and sparkly jeans to complete the ensemble. I promise, the jeans are cute.

I can’t believe my eldest child is five. At the same time, it feels like she’s been a part of our family from the beginning. She loves to read to herself. Sometimes she’ll read to her sister. She still loves dark blue and her obsession with horses is in full swing. She loves homeschooling, drawing, and anything else that allows her to express herself artistically. She’s very helpful around the house and will do almost anything I ask her to. The Eldest is a fabulous kid and we love having her in our family.
