I Win! And I Want To Be Unique, Just Like Everyone Else.

Accomplished between yesterday and noon today:
1. Sewed the girls' capes and purses. Just have to add the drawstrings.
2. Sewed The Hub's robe! It's Jedi-style, which hopefully he'll like.
3. Sewed some other gifts that cannot be mentioned.

I've actually been fairly productive. It's a nice feeling, especially to have the girls' stuff and the robe sewn. They've been on my 'to do' list for a LONG, LONG time and I was starting to get stressed about them. So they're now done. Ish. There are finishing touches to be accomplished, but that's what watching favorite movies after the children go to bed are for--handwork!

Came to a realization the other day (while standing in the Hobby Lobby, no less)--I struggle with being Just Like Everyone Else. My two favorite colors? Christmas colors. Bugs me to no end. My favorite scent? Vanilla. Took me years to admit it, because it's such a common scent. I should be grateful I can find it everywhere, eh? But once I realized I was resisting things that I loved because I wanted to be different, I was able to let it go (for the most part) and start enjoying who I am. My first step was to buy vanilla-scented shampoo. Oh yeah. Baby steps, right?
