I like this photo for many reasons, but for the purpose of this post, I'd like you to notice the arrangement of our family and who is in the center. That would be The Hub. The kids love to play with him and draw pictures for him and listen to him read stories. He is their favorite toy, as I often tease him. I rely on him to bring sanity at the end of the day, and he often listens to my complaints while patiently doing the dishes. (You see why I love him!)
We didn't go anywhere exotic or do anything fancy, though we did get to go out for early dinner/late lunch minus 2/3rds of the children. And that night, we set up a movie in the girls' room, put the baby to bed, and played the games WE wanted to play and talked and talked and talked. And maybe we shared a very decadent dessert as well. It was quiet, it was low-key, it was just romantic enough for me.
Thanks for sticking with me for nine years and for being my best friend. Here's to AT LEAST nine more!

Talking is an excellent way to celebrate an anniversary.
Congrats! We only go somewhere fancy and exciting every 5 years. Sometimes we FORGET our anniversary! Crazy.
