Easter and Bracelets and My Favorite Maternity Shirt EVER

So a couple of years ago, when I was first pregnant with TJ, we didn't even have an Easter egg hunt until the week AFTER Easter because I was so tired and sick. Last year wasn't too memorable--we just hid eggs around the apartment and let the girls go at it. It was over in two minutes.

BUT THIS YEAR! Oh, the beauties of having an actual backyard! We had a real Easter egg hunt and it lasted at least 10 minutes! I'm pretty sure it was 10 minutes because that's how long it takes my ankles to swell up and tell me to go sit down somewhere. ANYway, I was the official photographer and Mat was the official egg-hider/rememberer of the eggs' hiding locations.

And the girls are off! (TJ was napping.)

Look at our green backyard! It may be landscaped with "native grasses", but I sure do love the color! Annika was a very intent egg finder.

Afton got frustrated with her basket's capacity after a while and started using her hands...

...and her cheek.

My Easter surprise! We have flowers growing in the most random places in our yard.

Mat conferring with Afton, trying to remember where he hid the last three eggs.

Annika and Afton comparing their bounty.

I love this shot of Afton. I am not a professional/trained photographer by any means, but sometimes I get lucky and end up with pictures that I love.

TJ, post-nap. He lets us mess with him. In fact, he seems to think it's funny. Will he think it's funny in thirty years, when I'm showing these pictures to his kids? Who knows!

Non-Easter stuff: TJ wanted to homeschool...

...just like his sister. I love it!

Also, I made a pledge in the beginning of the year that I'd make five things by hand and give them to my friends. Here's what I made--some waxed linen and bead bracelets, as inspired by this post.

Obviously, I created my own version of it--I can't help it. I just can't leave things in their original format! Mat's had to request, more than once, that I follow a recipe exactly the first time to see if we like it BEFORE I start modifying it.....

(Don't mind my pixelated face. I've got to quit being so camera-lazy.)
Lastly, I found this maternity shirt at the thrift store last week. It sums up my last trimesters quite nicely.
