In the last 2.5 months, quite a few blog-worthy things have happened in our lives, and yet it took me this long to have the energy/time to actually get to it. And that's only if Ella stays asleep for another half hour or so. Cross your fingers for me!
First, we'll get the silly photos out of the way:

TJ had a bib obsession one day and begged to wear all these bibs at once.

TJ's version of an itsy-bitsy spider.

Birthday girl waited until 6 am on the morning of her birthday to get her daddy to pull out this loose tooth she had. Apparently it was VERY important that the tooth come out on her birthday and not before.
Why? No idea.

TJ likes to hang out in the front window and watch the world go by. Fortunately we live on a very quiet street, so his world consists mostly of squirrels and the occasional neighbor.

Got the dining room wall decorated the way I like it, finally. The hooks were an awesome deal at Real Deal Decor and I used a Groupon. It may take me another four years or so, but I WILL get this house looking like the decorations happened on purpose!
For comparison:

Me, pregnant with Afton.

Me, pregnant with Ella.
(I let a certain 7-year-old take this picture.
She thought it was funny to do it when I wasn't ready.
Thanks, kid.)
I *know* I was huge with Afton--she came with her own swimming pool and weighed nearly 10 pounds! But did I get as huge with Ella? It certainly felt like it, there at the end.
Anyway, the last month or so before Ella was finally born, there was all sorts of fun. I ended up in the hospital twice for monitoring because I was in early labor and I got put on semi-bed rest for a few weeks. It was frustrating not to be able to DO things anymore, but I got through it and as soon as I hit 37 weeks, I was up and moving again, ready to have Ella make her appearance. The sporadic early labor continued, which was exhausting and frustrating and EXHAUSTING, so a week before Ella was due, I called up my OB and told her I'd changed my mind about being induced. She had me go to the hospital the next morning, broke my water at 8:30am, and after my shortest labor EVER, Ella showed up at 11:30am. It was a little weird because the epidural barely had time to take and MAN ALIVE, I was feeling the contractions!
Hurrah for drugs and other medical advances. I realize now that even if I had a gun to my head, I would not be able to handle natural birth gracefully.
And I'm the type of person that if I don't HAVE to do something the hard way, I certainly won't.

Anyway, Ella is here and beautiful. Her full name is Eleanor Grace, she weighed 8 lbs 10 oz and measured 20 inches, and has some dark blonde peach fuzz gracing her head.
She eats like a champion and has already gained a pound, 2.5 weeks after birth. She is relatively content, but get mad easily and quickly and goes to a full scream (no in-between warning cries) in 0.5 seconds flat. She turns a bright red when she screams, which makes her blonde eyebrows show up really well.
Heh.

So there we are. Who knows what the next 2.5 months will bring? Not sleep, that's for sure!

Oh congrats Karie. She's a cutie. Hang in there with the no sleep thing. I don't know how you do it but I know it will get better. =) Keep up the good mommy work.
