Graduation
First, I had to show off my own hair. It's not particularly well-styled or anything, but it is LOOOONG. I'll be donating it to Locks of Love soon enough--as soon as my favorite stylist has time. Anyway, this picture was taken as we were waiting for our ride (the free buses that run through our part of the city) up to campus. We didn't have to hassle with parking--it was wonderful.
As you can tell, seating was tight.
Mat was quite a bit taller than the professor who hooded him, so he made it look like a knighting ceremony instead. Less awkward for everyone involved, I suppose, except that his photographers (myself and his sister Elise) were giggling like crazy, so our pictures weren't the best....
Here's Mat with his internship supervisor, Bill, and the other intern (and now one of Mat's good friends), Jeff. They provided oncology counseling at a local hospital--it was a rather unique program, and it led Mat to realize that he's uniquely suited for grief and/or bereavement counseling.
Mat's heroic act of the day: Keeping Annika from falling head-first into the fountain. Once she discovered that we didn't mind her splashing in the thing, she couldn't stay away. She really seems to love the water--I think maybe she'll need swimming lessons soon.
