Mondays and Superheroes

So we had a Monday. Monday is library and errands day, and the girls were amazingly patient through the entire ride. This is possibly because we promised them a trip to the park at the end. Twenty minutes at the park is all it takes to guarantee their good behavior, it seems. I doubt it will work in ten years, but for now I'll take it.

After lunch, which for me was hastily gobbled down leftover spaghetti, I went to the local Kwik Kar for four hours to stuff envelopes. That was . . . work. I've also come to the realization that I am an old lady. By the end of the four hours, my back was screaming for a little pillow to put behind my back. Actually, my back was screaming because I hadn't done it three hours ago. Now, I do have some scoliosis, so that may be a contributing factor to my old-lady-hood, but there it is. I'm gonna have to make myself something. Church pews tend to be more comfortable with a hymnbook shoved behind me too.

Yeah. I should just get a cane and start dying my hair gray. I'm there. My body has declared it.

Anyway, Mat fed the girls lunch after I left and told Annika to say the prayer. Apparently she started right in--without closing her eyes. Her Nana watched her throughout the prayer she said, in which her gaze rested on her uncle, various walls, and the ceiling. So after the prayer, Nana asked Annika who she was praying to. Annika replied "Jesus!" Nana contained her laughter and corrected Annika on the whole closing eyes thing and whom we address when we pray issue. Apparently we haven't been clear enough on that.

So there you go. Enjoy yesterday's pictures and this Afton-ism that I forgot to post yesterday: "God is a superhero!"
